This simple yet delicious recipe is based on white chocolate ice cream and a delicious homemade strawberry syrup. This is a nice recipe to make if you have some strawberries which are slightly overripe, because you can use the overripe ones to make the syrup and reserve the perfectly ripe ones for the garnish. Feel free to swap the white chocolate ice cream for vanilla ice cream or another favorite flavor.

Wine Suggestion:
The mellow, buttery flavor of the white chocolate ice cream, as well as the fruity strawberry puree, means that an Orange Muscat would be a beautiful wine to serve with this ice cream sundae recipe. You can get some great California Orange Muscat wines and one of the best ones is the 2009 Quady Orange Muscat California Electra and you can expect to pay around $7 for a bottle of this.

This simple yet alluring strawberry sundae dessert is made with white chocolate ice cream, fresh strawberries, fresh mint, and a delicious homemade strawberry syrup. This dessert can be made with heavily frozen ice cream but it is better if you allow the ice cream to get a bit soft because you can swirl it better with the strawberry syrup. Use whipped topping or whipped heavy cream to add a stylish topping, as well as fresh mint and a strawberry. This easy sundae recipe will appeal to everyone, old and young, and it is wonderfully light and refreshing.
Although the perfect strawberry sundae is largely a matter of taste, it can be a lot of fun experimenting with different strawberry sundae recipes until you find something you really love. Choose your favorite ice cream flavors to make a strawberry sundae recipe. Although vanilla ice cream is a classic choice, there are hundreds of different flavors you can combine. You can use fresh, canned, or thawed strawberries, although fresh ones have a better appearance and texture. Canned and thawed ones can be a bit mushy.
Think about what kind of ice cream syrup you are going to use, and what goes with it. Hot chocolate fudge sauce is better over vanilla ice cream than chocolate ice cream, although a rich cherry sauce would be great over chocolate ice cream. Keep your ice cream in the freezer until you are ready to make your strawberry sundae recipe, so it does not melt too fast. You can also chill the sundae glass in the freezer or refrigerator before adding the ice cream to it.
A lot of famous strawberry sundae recipes are made with three scoops of ice cream, but you can use as many or as few as you want. It also depends how big your scoops are, of course. You can add your scoops in layers with wafers, cookies, or candies between the layers.
If you are serving the strawberry sundae in a glass, you will be able to see these layers. If you are using an opaque glass or dish, you will not see the layers until you are eating the dessert.
You might like to use a delicate-flavored strawberry syrup to decorate your strawberry sundae, or you might want to go with a rich, bold hot chocolate fudge sauce. It is totally your choice and luckily strawberries suit either of these flavors, and pretty much everything in between. You can stick to one sauce or syrup, or combine a couple of different ones, squeezing or pouring one over the sundae, and then adding the other.
Think about adding sprinkles, nuts, coconut, or candies too. Some Cool Whip or whipped cream on top of your strawberry sundae recipes will finish them off nicely, as well as perhaps a cherry on top. If you do not want to add Cool Whip or whipped cream, that is no problem, and you can finish off your sundae with some chopped nuts or another layer of ice cream instead.
